Perform Inspector Sign Off

Explanation

This activity is used to sign off work tasks, work task steps or subtasks (from Fleet and Asset Management) having Inspector sign off requirements. When this activity is performed, and certificate requirements are defined, the system will check whether the current user fulfills all the certificate requirements for inspector sign off type, after which the work task, work task step or subtask will be signed off. Only one user is allowed to sign off as inspector. User certificates are defined in the Employee File and requires the component IFS/Human Resources to be installed.

When an inspector sign off is performed, and there are no more sign offs to be performed on the work task, the status of the work task will be changed automatically to Reported.

When an inspector sign off is performed, and there are no more sign offs to be performed on the work task step, the status of the work task step will be changed automatically to Done.

Note: The person performing an inspector sign off cannot by default be the same person who performed executor sign off. This is controlled by a setting in Object Properties. If the property value for the object property name SAME_SIGN_OFF_USER is set to TRUE, the same person can perform both the inspector and executor sign offs. If set to FALSE, the same person cannot sign off as both inspector and executor within a sign off chain (defined by the same grouping number).

Prerequisites

System Effects

As a result of this activity, an inspector sign off is performed on the work task, work task step or subtask. If there are no more sign offs to be performed, the work task is moved to the Reported status or the work task step is moved to the Done status.
