Page Search Pane

Page Search Icon

Page Search pane allows to filter records within an IFS Cloud records page. Each drop-down menu in the search pane corresponds to a field within a specific section.

Click on the Page search icon to open Page Search Pane.

Note: Sometimes certain fields might not be visible within the sections of a page but those fields  can still be utilized as a page search criteria.

Example: Following diagram shows fields in Page Search pane (Site(1),Company(2)) and their corrosponding locations within a section (Group 1 (a))of the page

Advanced Search

Advanced Button

You can use this option to perform an Advanced Search using a SQL Query

A.

  • First, click the Advanced option to access the Advance Search Query Field.
  • Add any advanced search queries in the field, to search data within the Page.

Adjust the dimensions of the Advanced Search Query Field by clicking and dragging the resize icon located at the bottom right corner of the field.

You can use this option to add additional filteration fields to Page Search Pane.

  • First, click More drop down menu to access all the fields associated with Page Search Pane.
  • Enter a field name in the Filter fields section to locate the desired field.
  • Then, click the Reset button to deselect your selection and revert to the default checkbox field selections.
  • Finally, click the Checkbox next to a field to add it to the Page Search Pane.

C : Favorites

Favorites Button

You can save your current filtered search to your favorites, allowing you to easily reuse the same filters by selecting the saved search from your favorites list.

  • Initiate your page search after selecting all the search criteria by clicking the Search button.

Note: When you use a filter in the Page Search Pane to find specific records, it also influences the Record Selector. This means that the record selector will only display records that match the filters you applied in the page search pane.  For more information on record selector go to : Record Selector.

Saved Search

You can use this option to save, your current search query and add it to your saved search list

  • First, click on the Saved Searches drop down menu to View / Manage all the page search configurations saved previously.
  • Next, click on any Saved Search Title to add those filters to page search pane.
  • Finally, click on Run Latest Search to perform the most recent page search.

  • Fill in the fields:
    • Name : Fill the Name field with a desired name for the Search category.
    • Notes : Add any notes / comments regarding the search category in the Notes field.
    • Search for : This section cannot be modified and it is prefilled with all the search criteria selected on Search Pane.

  • Click the Manage Saved Searches option to modify your saved page searches.
  • Next, click on the Saved Search drop down menu to select the Saved Search record you wish to modify.
  • Fill in the fields:
    • Name : Modify the Name of the Saved Search.
    • Notes : Modify the Notes of the Saved Search.
    • Search for : This section cannot be modified and it is pre-filled with all the search criteria selected on Search Pane.
  • Additional Options:
    • Search: Apply the modifications and initiate search.
    • Copy Link: Copy the link for IFS cloud page with all the modified Search Pane filters.
    • Delete: Delete the saved search.
    • Cancel: Cancel the saved search modification

Copy Link
This option allows you to copy the IFS cloud page with all the modified Search Pane criteria.

Modify the Page Search interactions by utilizing the options in Search Settings menu.

1. Run Search Section
defines how a search should be triggered in Page Search Pane. The following options are offered by run search :

  • When criteria is changed: As soon as you change search filter criterias, a page search will be triggered automatically
  • Only when search button pressed : System will wait until you press the Search button to initiate a page search.

Modify the Page Search interactions by utilizing the options in Search Settings menu.

2. Startup Behavior Section
defines which data to be shown when you first open the page :

  • New Search : Perform a new page search when you first open the page to populate data.
  • Run Latest Search : Perform the most recent search when you first open the page to populate data.
  • Saved Search : Populate the data according to a saved search criteria.
    • You can select a saved search by using the drop down menu which appears when you select Saved search radio button.

Pin Page Search Pane

Pin Icon 

Use this option to Pin the Page Search pane in IFS Cloud. Once pinned, the Page Search Pane will remain open as you navigate through different IFS Cloud pages that include a Page Search Pane, even if you refresh the page.

Note : Some IFS Cloud pages have the default behavior of displaying the Page Search Pane, regardless of the pin function. You can still use the pin/unpin option for the Page Search Pane on these pages, ensuring that the pane remains pinned as you navigate to pages where the default behavior is to have the Page Search Pane unpinned.

Time Zone Toggle

Records added to the system could have been created with different date/time values in various time zones. Use this option to filter records according to a desired time zone value. After applying this condition to Page Search, all records created between 00:00 and 24:00 in your selected timezone on the chosen date will be displayed.

When you enable the Search With Time Zone option, all date/time pickers in the page search pane will include an additional drop-down menu to select a time zone for your date/time value. After applying this filter and initiating a search, the results will display all records matching the selected date/time within the specified time zone.

Note: Upon selecting a date/time value different from your current working timezone, a timezone badge will appear in the applied filter to indicate your chosen timezone.

Upon clicking this button, a new menu will open, presenting all the supported syntaxes for the section.
