Receive Customer Order Change Request
Explanation
This activity is used to receive a change request for a quotation request
or customer order, i.e., changes that the customer has made in the purchase
order/purchase order request and sent by EDI/MHS.
If you want to reduce the sales quantity on an existing order line that has
manually pegged supplies connected to it, you must first remove or modify the
pegging. You can also increase the quantity, but you will be notified that the
pegged quantity does not fulfill the demand.
If automatic approval should be used, the Incoming Customer Order Approval
should be set to Automatically. It can be set in the header
of the Site/Sales and Procurement/Sales
or in the site-customer combination list Customer Message Defaults,
or in the Customer/Sales/Message Defaults tab.
The changes will be done automatically. If you want to check for messages, it
can be done from Incoming Change Requests for Customer
Order.
If automatic approval is not used, go to Incoming
Change Request for Customer Order to check the information received
and change/add information if desired. Only changes made to lines with status
of Changed or Added will be transferred to the customer order.
Time zone badge is displayed for all date/time attributes respective to the
site's time zone.
The "Wanted Delivery Date" is displayed in the demand site's time
zone. Once the incoming change request is approved, the "Wanted Delivery
Date" in the internal customer order is displayed in the supply site's
time zone. "Created Date" and "Receive Date" in the incoming
change request are also displayed in the supply site's time zone. When creating
an incoming change request from a third-party tool, the wanted delivery date
is displayed in the server time zone.
Prerequisites
- You must have set up the EDI/MHS messages regarding customer order changes
(ORDCHG) in Customer/Message
Setup.
- A change request, i.e., a message of type ORDCHG, must have been sent
from the customer.
- The quotation or customer order must have been created and currently
not have either Invoiced/Closed or Canceled
status.
System Effects
- The changes approved will be transferred to the corresponding quotation
or customer order in your system. The status of the message will be Processed.
The changes on quotation lines can be viewed in the
Sales Quotation/Lines
tab by choosing Quotation Line History when
the changes have been processed. The changes on customer order lines can
be viewed in Customer
Order/Lines tab by choosing Order Line History
when the changes have been processed.
- The approved changes will be propagated to any existing pegged supply
orders, according to the replication logic. Examples of changes that triggers
a replication are cancellation, quantity change, date changes, delivery
address changes when the order line is a direct delivery.
- Components included in the changed package part line can be viewed by
selecting View Package Part Structure command.
- If package component related changes are done for package parts with
supply code Int Purch Dir, it is required to process
all the change requests before further processing.
- With the time zone improvement, a badge is introduced for all the
date/time attributes. The Wanted Delivery Date is
displayed in demand site’s time zone. Once the incoming change request
is approved, in the internal customer order, the Wanted Delivery
Date is displayed in supply site’s time zone. Created
Date and Receive Date in the coming change
request are also displayed in supply site’s time zone. Similar behavior
can be seen when creating an incoming change request from a third-party
tool.
