This activity is used to create and activate control plans for many parts and also propagate new changes to relevant shop orders using control plan templates. The activity differs depending on whether you are creating manufacturing, purchasing, or inventory control plans.
To create control plans from a control plan template, enter the specific control plan template and additional information in the first step of the assistant. In the Phase In Date field, you can enter any date in the future. If any existing control plans are phased out, the phase out date will be today's date. In the Responsible Person field, select a person to be set as responsible for the control plans.
Select Copy if you want to create control plans without keeping any reference to the template.
Select Reference if you want to keep a reference to the template, making it possible to update or create new revisions of the control plans from the template.
Proceed with the assistant. Depending on the template type, you will be guided through different steps. Once you have completed the assistant, errors or warnings that may have occurred will be displayed on the Control Plan Log page.
Note: If a manufactured part is configurable, operation numbers and work centers referred on the template lines may not exist on the routing alternate, but you should check that they refer to combinations of operation numbers and work center numbers that may be the result of the configuration rules.
It is not possible to apply control plan templates to parts which are having disassembly routing revisions.
