Perform this activity to create a request for service directly from a project. When you select the New Request from the Requests menu, the New Request assistant opens in service management. It is mandatory to enter a description, a customer, and to select a service from the service catalog. If you create the request from a project activity, the project information is automatically added. If you create it from any other level of the project, you must manually fill in this information in the assistant by toggling on the Project Connection option.
The scope of the request is defined according to the service in the services catalog specified for the request. The request scope retains the project information, ensuring that any new work tasks added to the request are automatically connected to the activity based on the project information in the request scope details.
You can manually connect or disconnect work tasks directly from a request, provided the work tasks do not have any cost lines or invoicable sales lines. To do this, use the Project Connection command on the Services tab of the request. All work tasks associated with the request will be connected or disconnected.
Individual work tasks can be manually disconnected from the activity on the Activity Monitoring / Project Connections page by selecting the work task and then the Disconnect Object button.
