Closing the project is the final stage in the project lifecycle, indicating that all project work, including financial and post-project activities such as reports or evaluations, have been completed. Promoting the project to Closed status is an automated process triggered by the completion of the corresponding financial project, which is typically managed by a project accountant.
Any scheduled logging of project history should be turned off, if it has not been already, to prevent unnecessary data accumulation.
Note: The Finance tab in the Project Setup Parameters page is only available if General Ledger has been installed. The financial completion of the project in the General Ledger can be performed through the Project Completion command on the Project Setup Parameters/Finance tab or the Financial Project page.
