Propagate Quantity Upstream
Explanation
This activity is used to propagate quantities upstream in a DOP structure (to
child levels). The quantities at child levels in the DOP structure will be
adjusted based on
the quantity of the DOP order from which the activity is performed.
To propagate quantities upstream click Propagate Date/Quantity,
then click Propagate Quantity Upstream on the
DOP Order or the DOP Orders page.
Prerequisites
This activity requires that the DOP order has components.
System Effects
As a result of this activity:
- The quantities are updated for the DOP orders at child levels in the DOP
structure based on the quantity of the DOP order from which the activity is
performed. The new quantity of the child levels is
calculated primarily from the actual quantity required of the pegged supply
orders. For any un-supplied quantity, the child level quantity is calculated
as the Un-supplied Qty x Qty Per Assembly + Component Scrap.
Also the inventory part scrap factor is considered.
- If serial numbers
are reserved for a component DOP order and the quantity decreases, the correct amount of
the serial numbers is unreserved. If there is an overflow of netted quantity for a DOP
order after the propagation, this quantity is un-reserved.
- The start dates for the DOP orders at child levels in the DOP structure
are updated using backwards planning. For information on how this is done,
see
Set DOP Order Start Date by Backwards Planning.
- If the site has Schedule and Create Load for DOP Order
Operations enabled, machine and labor load of source Scheduled DOP
are re-created for the operations on the DOP orders at child levels
in the structure based on
the quantity remaining to supply on the DOP orders, plus the planned
supply scrap for that quantity. This applies to the DOP orders with manufactured parts that have
the status
Unreleased or Netted and Create Pegged set to
Pegged Orders.
