Configure DOP Settings for Site
Explanation
This activity is used to configure site settings related to dynamic order
processing (DOP).
To perform the activity, enable/disable the relevant
settings on the Site / Manufacturing
page.
In the Planning Settings section on the
General tab:
- Enable Allow MRP Explosion for DOP Parts if you want MRP
supplies to be generated for all the non-DOP components in the standard
BOM (multilevel) of DOP parts when the DOP parts are planned by master
scheduling.
In the DOP Settings section on the
General tab:
- Enable Auto Close DOP Order if you want DOP orders that meet
the auto close criteria to close automatically. The auto close criteria
are:
- The Completed Qty is equal, or higher than
the Order Qty field on the DOP Order
page.
- There are no parts left in the temporary inventory. (Example: If
there were parts received from a purchase order that were reserved
against a DOP order, the parts would be in temporary inventory).
- All parts for the DOP order must be delivered.
- All child DOP orders must be closed.
If the DOP order immediately under the DOP header is closed, the DOP header
will also be closed.
- Enable Create/Update Structure in Background if you
want to execute actions that create or update a DOP structure as
background jobs. This is recommended for performance reasons when
working with very large DOP structures or when Schedule and
Create Load for DOP Order Operations is enabled. Note
that this setting does not affect actions applied to individual DOP
orders. Furthermore, DOP structures created as a result of releasing a
customer order are not affected by this setting; the customer order type
instead controls them.
- Enable Create Purchase Requisition from DOP in Released
Status if you want purchase requisitions created from DOP to be
created in status Released.
- Enable Schedule and Create Load for DOP Order Operations
if you want DOP orders to be planned by scheduling the operations on the
DOP orders similar to how shop order operations are scheduled. Machine
and labor load will be created for the operations on DOP orders with
the status Unreleased and Netted. This
load can be viewed as Scheduled DOP load on the
Machine Load Details and the Labor Load
Details pages. If the option is disabled, DOP orders are
planned, using the total lead time of the DOP order operations. No load
is created automatically by the system, but you can create it by running
CRP. Note: DOP orders that neither have a defined routing alternate nor
operations are planned using the fixed and variable lead times defined
on the inventory part of the DOP order, regardless of this setting.
