Calculate Structure Component Actuals
Explanation
Use this activity to create a snapshot for structure component details
and calculate the actual results for different attributes used in a product,
configuration, or recipe structure.
In the Calculate Structure
Component Actuals assistant, specify the selection criteria
such as product family, part and date range for the structures and shop
order to be included in the calculation.
The assistant will calculate the actual values for structure attributes
based on closed shop orders within the defined date range. This snapshot
record allows you to compare planned values with actual values for different
structure attributes. This information can be used to update the structure
attributes to enhance the accuracy of the structure.
To identify shop order material lines, both components and produced
parts, to include in the calculation, material lines are identified by
comparing the structure type, structure revision, structure alternate and
structure line item number. This means that a shop order material line and a
structure material line will be considered the same if they have the same
structure line item number. Even if for example, the operation to which the
material line is connected has been updated.
The following attributes are calculated for components: Scrap Factor,
Usage Factor and
Alternate Component Factor. For produced parts:
Scrap Factor and Usage Factor.
Note:
- Configuration Rule and Alternate Rule columns
display the rule at the time when the Snapshot ID is created. This means that
if the configuration or alternate rule has been changed during the revision/alternate
life cycle, the displayed rule might not have been used for the component for
all the closed shop orders within the timeframe.
- The rules are displayed in the user language that created the Actuals
Snapshot
ID.
- For a non-configurable part, the structure usage factor is not
displayed, actual usage factor and usage factor difference is not calculated
as the usage factor is not used for these parts.
- The attribute Alternate Component Factor will display planned and
calculated values only for Remanufacturing structures.
- For produced parts, the attribute Scrap Factor will display planned
and calculated values only for type Disassembly Component
and Co-Product.
Prerequisites
- To calculate for a configurable part, IFS/Configuration Back Office and IFS/Configuration Characteristic must
have been installed.
- At least one configuration structure or product structure of type
Manufacturing, Repair,
Prototype, Disassembly, or
Remanufacturing should exist.
- At least one closed shop order using the structure should exist within the date range
used.
System Effects
-
The actual structure
attribute values are calculated.
-
A new record with a new
snapshot ID is created on Structure Component Actuals Snapshot and Structure
Component Actuals Snapshots page.
