This activity is used to add co-products to a product structure alternate of type manufacturing or prototype. A co-product is an intentional secondary product produced simultaneously with the main product, with both holding significant value. The production of one cannot occur without the other, as they are integral to the same process.
To add a co-product, create a new line with the Type set to Co-Product on the Produced Parts tab. Enter the Part to add, and the quantity produced relative to the unit of the parent part in Qty per Unit field. Optionally, connect the co-product to the operation where it is produced. The Scrap Factor (%) can also be edited.
As a result of this activity, co-products are added to the product structure alternate.
