Add Configuration Structure Co-Products

Explanation

This activity is used to add co-products to a configuration structure alternate of type manufacturing or prototype. A co-product is an intentional secondary product produced simultaneously with the main product, with both holding significant value. The production of one cannot occur without the other, as they are integral to the same process.

To add a co-product, create a new record with the Type set to Co-Product on the Produced Parts tab. Enter the Part to add, and the quantity produced relative to the unit of the parent part in Qty per Assembly field. Specify the probability that the component is produced as a percentage in the Usage Factor field. Optionally, connect the co-product to the operation where it is produced. The Scrap Factor(%) can also be edited. Back-office rules can be defined to specify the set of configuration values when the co-product should be selected.
