Add Shop Order Co-Product

Explanation

Use this activity to add a new co-product to a specific shop order having the order type manufacturing or prototype. A co-product is an intentional secondary product produced simultaneously with the main product, with both holding significant value. The production of one cannot occur without the other, as they are integral to the same process.

To add a co-product, create a new line with the Type set to Co-Product on the Shop Order/Produced Parts tab. Enter the required part number in the Produced Part field and the quantity produced relative unit of the parent part in the Qty per Unit field. Optionally the co-product can be connected to the operation where it is produced. The Scrap Factor (%) can also be edited.

Prerequisites

System Effects

As a result of this activity, a co-product is added to the shop order.

If Use Shop Order Lot/Batch No for Co-Products is disabled for the site, and the co-product part has Lot/Batch Tracking set to Order Based, a lot/batch number will be automatically generated and reserved for the co-product line. This lot/batch number will follow the standard syntax of [OrderNo]-[Release No]-[Sequence No] plus an index number.
