This activity is used to define packing instructions which will be retrieved
to customer orders based on certain criteria. This task should be performed
by a system administrator or an equivalent person.
When entering a packing instruction, the following combinations of
attributes can be used with priority orders:
In addition to the attributes mentioned above, Min Qty and UoM can be specified for each of the seven combinations. Min Qty can have a positive / NULL value. If the Min Qty has a positive value, UoM field is required. UoM is automatically filled when the part is selected. For a combination that does not have a site, part UoM will be fetched from the part catalog. For a combination that has a site, part UoM will be fetched from Sales Part's/Non-Inventory Sales Part’s/Package-Part’s Sales UoM. Users must remove the automatically fetched UoM, when saving a combination without Min Qty and UoM. However, combinations with the Min Qty are prioritized when fetching packing instructions for the customer order line.
To round up due quantities in Customer Schedule Lines,
it is necessary to add a Multiple Quantity. Multiple Quantity is the maximum
number of units a packaging unit can accommodate. Quantities in customer
schedules can be rounded up based on the multiple quantity for easier
shipping.
Priority order of the combinations entered will
determine the selection of the multiple quantity needed to round up the
customer schedule lines.
