This activity is used to define a Customer Warranty Type on the Model. A customer warranty type can be created using a predefined Warranty Type Template or manually without a template. Several warranty types can be connected to a Model. The warranty types can be removed or added, and the data defined for a warranty type and the warranty conditions can be modified. A Testpoint-Parameter combination can be added against a usage-based warranty condition to automatically update the warranty status to Closed based on the parameter measurements after applying on Service Object (usage-based means warranty condition with an Other UOM defined instead of a Duration UOM).
A customer warranty type is added to the Model. A warranty ID will be created when the first warranty type is added, and the rest of the warranty types added after that will be attached to the already created warranty type. Removing all warranty type will remove the warranty ID.
