This activity helps define key job-related details, including assigning the job to the appropriate group, family, and grade, specifying required qualifications, and outlining the responsibilities and duties of the job holder.
On the left side of the Job page, a graphical tree structure displays all job information. Each node in the tree represents a section containing specific job details, which can be modified as needed.
In Global Job Architecture, jobs are independent and not tied to any specific company. This allows job specifications to be defined without being company-specific.
A job definition within the Global Job Architecture consists of four sections:
General
Qualifications
Responsibilities
Companies
General Section
The General section consists of the information listed below. This information is not mandatory however, the HCM professional / organization can choose what is more relevant for their job architecture and use accordingly.
This information is recorded and linked to a registered job. Among these, all categories except Job Group allow for a single default value to be set within a given date range.
Before the introduction of Global Job Architecture, the basic data pages for Job Families, Job Categories, and Job Functional Areas were already defined globally and were not tied to any specific company. These categories remained independent and could be linked to any compatible registered job. As a result, these basic data pages are company-dependent Job Definition pages.
Qualifications Section
The Qualifications section details the necessary skills, certificates, education, and work experience required for a job.
Competencies and Certificates: These are recorded based on the definitions in Competency Structure and Certificate Structure pages.
Education Criteria: Utilizes predefined Education Levels and Education Fields when recording education criteria.
Work Experience: Both internal and external work experiences are specified for each job. Predefined fields such as Industry Areas and Functional Areas are used when recording work experience. The displayed fields in the Work Experience list vary based on the type of work experience.
Responsibilities Section
The Responsibilities section outlines the duties and obligations associated with the job. This information plays a crucial role in generating accurate job descriptions using the Content Generation Tool. The listed responsibilities will be used to create nd display relevant job descriptions.
Companies Section
The Companies section allows users to tag companies to a global job. Using Add All Companies option all user accessible companies can be connected to the global job at once. As a result, in company-dependent pages, only jobs linked to a specific company will be displayed.
