Assign to Others

Explanation

Hangar maintenance crew leads and supervisors can assign one or more unassigned skill requirements of non-historical tasks to others considering the required skills to complete the task and their availability.   

Also, hangar maintenance crew leads and supervisors can unassign task assignments of non-historical tasks from others. 

Prerequisites

As a hangar maintenance crew lead or technician, you can assign skill requirements successfully to an available resource if the;  

• selected resource possesses the required skills and certificates. 
• Assignment Status of all the selected skill requirements is blank (i.e., unassigned). 
• Assignment Status of the task is blank (i.e., unassigned). 

  Note: A task is unassigned if at least one skill requirement on it is unassigned. 

• Task Status is Active or In Work. 

To access the required resources as a hangar maintenance crew lead, you need to; 

• have an employee created.  
• be granted unlimited access within the Person Access Group.

You can unassign a task assignment from a resource successfully if the Assignment Status of all the selected skill requirements is Assigned. 

System Effects

• Task assignments are updated on the My Assignment Board. 
• Unassigned task assignments are removed from the My Assignment Board. 
• After you assign resources to skill requirements in the Assignments page and when you re-open it for the same requirement skill and assigned role; 
• they are removed from the Resources list.
• their total assignments and total scheduled hours are updated accordingly. 

Procedure

1. Select a task on the Tasks page. 
2. Expand it to view the skill requirements in the Assignments tab.  Note: You view the Assign button when you select either none, one, or more unassigned skill requirements of a task. 
3. Click Assign.

   Note: This opens the Assignment assistant, which displays all the unassigned skill requirements for that specific task. The resource list displays all the resources assigned to the same site as of the task who have the certificate for the corresponding Required Skill and Assignment Role. The list is ordered from top to bottom by ascending order of the Shift Start. For each resource, it displays the Shift Start and Shift End;

   • of the shift (if you have one), which falls within the scheduled start and scheduled end of the skill requirement. 
   • of the next closest shift if you do not have a shift, which falls within the scheduled start and scheduled end of the skill requirement. 
   • empty if you do not have shifts set up in the system. 
4. Select the required resource demand you want to assign. 
5. Select the resource to whom you want to assign from the Resources list. 
6. Click Assign. 
7. Click Ok to exit the Assignments page once you complete one assignment. 

Tip: Click Cancel to exit the page at any point. 

To unassign resources as a hangar maintenance crew lead or supervisor, select an assigned task in the Assignments tab from either the Tasks or Task Details page.
