Assign to Me

Explanation

  Hangar maintenance crew leads and technicians can assign one or more unassigned skill requirements of non-historical tasks to themselves considering the required skills to complete the task and their availability.    

Hangar maintenance crew leads can assign tasks that do not align with their shifts (i.e., if the scheduled start does not fall within the shift schedule) or even if they do not have shifts set up in the system to themselves if required.   

Also, hangar maintenance crew leads and hangar maintenance technicians can unassign task assignments that are assigned to them if required. However, hangar maintenance technicians cannot unassign themselves from skill requirements of which work is already started. 

Prerequisites

As a hangar maintenance crew lead or hangar maintenance technician, you can assign a skill requirement successfully to yourself if the following conditions are satisfied.  

• You should possess the required skills and certificates.  
• The Assignment Status of all the selected skill requirements should be blank (i.e., unassigned). 

  Note: A task is unassigned if at least one skill requirement of it is unassigned.  

• The Task Status should be Active or In Work.  The Work Package Status should be In Work. 
• The Scheduled Start of the skill requirement should fall within your shift. 
• The task of the skill requirement is at the same site as the resource group. 

 As a hangar maintenance crew lead or hangar maintenance technician, you can unassign a task assignment that is assigned to you successfully if the following conditions are satisfied.

• The Assignment Status of all the selected skill requirements should be Assigned. 
• The Assigned To field should show the name of the resource from whom the assignment should be unassigned. 

System Effects

• You view all the assigned tasks assigned to yourself (any existing filters will be cleared) by using the Assign To filter on the global search. 
• The task assignments are updated on the My Assignment Board for the assigned hangar maintenance crew lead or hangar maintenance technician. 
•  The unassigned task assignments are removed from the My Assignment Board for the unassigned hangar maintenance crew lead or hangar maintenance technician. 

Procedure

Hangar maintenance technicians can assign themselves to the skill requirements of a task via the Assign To Me option by selecting unassigned skill requirements in the Task Assignments page.

Hangar maintenance crew leads can assign themselves to the skill requirements of a task via the Assign To Me option by locating it in one of the following ways. 

• Select an unassigned task in the Tasks page and expand it to view the Assignments tab 
• Select unassigned skill requirements in the Assignments tab on the Task Details page 

Hangar maintenance technicians can unassign themselves from skill requirements of a task via the Unassign option by selecting assigned skill requirements in the Task Assignments page.

Hangar maintenance crew leads can unassign themselves or other resources from task assignments via the Unassign option by locating it in one of the following ways. 

• Select assigned task in the Tasks page and expand it to view the Assignments tab 
• Select assigned tasks in the Assignments tab on the Task Details page
