Add Airports

Explanation

You can add airports to represent the geographic locations where your organization has operations which can then go on to be specified on other related entities such as flights and maintenance locations.

You must also connect a Site to an airport to grant access to resources such as persons and tools available at the site to the airport. This is a prerequisite for turn and task resource assignments as well adding tool requirements for a task or fault.

Once added, if required, you can edit airport details as required. You can also delete an airport if it is not specified as the airport for other entities such as flights in the system.

Prerequisites

• Create a site as it is mandatory to assign a site to the airport on the Airports page. 
• Set the time zone to UTC when creating a site for the airport. 

  Note: The airport and site may have different time zones. The time zone of the site must always be UTC but the airport can have any time zone.   

• Assign the site of the airport to maintenance execution users as required on the Sites per User page. 

System Effects

• Airports can be used when registering flights and other related entities in the system.
• When performing work, users can see date and time in their local time, which is determined by the time zone assigned to their respective airport.
