The Sign-Off Chain functionality enables organizations to define and manage the necessary sign-off steps for permits, isolations or isolation orders. It ensures that authorization is properly handled at each stage of the permit, isolation or isolation order process by assigning specific roles to each step. Sign-Off chains are customizable based on the type of business object, such as work safety permits, isolation or isolation orders, and can include instructions for each sign-off step as required. This process ensures that permits, isolations and isolation orders are thoroughly approved by the right personnel before proceeding.
To configure a sign-off chain, enter a value in the Sign-Off Chain ID field, select a sign-off chain type from the Sign-Off Chain Type drop-down menu (Permit, Isolation or Isolation Order), and provide a description in the Description field before saving the record.
The configuration page includes two tabs: Sign-Off Steps and Connected To.
In the Sign-Off Steps tab, define the necessary sign-off steps by selecting a value for the Sign-Off Point field (e.g., Preparation Approved, Released, Returned, or Canceled), updating the Step No field, and selecting a value for the Role field from predefined roles such as Safety Officer or Permit Coordinator. These fields are mandatory. Additional instructions can be entered in the Sign-Off Instructions field if required.
The Connected To tab allows linking the sign-off chain to relevant business object types, such as permit types, isolation types or isolation order types, ensuring the appropriate sign-off steps are automatically applied during operational processes. Select a value for the Connected ID field from predefined options.
