Create Performance Evaluation Templates

Explanation

This activity is used to create performance evaluation templates. Performance evaluation templates can be created from both HCM Services and as a manager at Manager Services.

Performance evaluation template – Admin

As part of the administrative functions the HCM Business users can pre-define some performance evaluation templates which can be used by managers, supervisor, HR professionals etc. at the point of creating performance evaluations for employees.
It is recommended to introduce prefix or a suffix to easily identify related performance evaluation templates.

Example: Any Sales related evaluation template can have a prefix as “SALE”,
SALE_REGIONAL MANAGERS, SALE_SALES EXECUTIVES, SALE_PRODUCT ACTIVATION.

Companies
The evaluation templates can be created for specific companies or as a global template which is accessible by all. If the toggle “Global” is activated from the general section, the created template will be available to all companies. If the toggle is inactive the company’s section will be visible where the HCM Business Users can specify which company uses the defined template.

Performance evaluation template - Manager
Managers can define their own performance evaluation templates which are visible only to them. This page is available at the manager services performance evaluations.

Using performance Evaluation templates following information can be pre-defined

  1. Objectives
    Like the process of defining an objective for an employee at employee evaluation details, the template allows the user to key in the basic information related to an objective. The Objectives defined here will be assigned to the employees if the respective template is used. Further if the Objective has some activities to be performed, such activities can be defined against the objective. Make sure the “Use Activity Rating” flag is checked if the objective rating depends on the activities.
  2. Activities (Connected to Objectives)
  3. General performances
    General performances can be defined at the evaluation templates. As general performance basic data are defined company wise, any general performance defined here will be company specific.
    At the point of assignment to an employee, if the template consists of general performances from multiple companies the general performance relevant to the assigned employee’s company will be created in the employee’s performance evaluation.

Weightage Validation

The Objectives and general performance weightage cannot exceed 100%, this is a standard validation that takes place at the point of creation. However, in the case of templates the weightage validation will happen with an exception.  Every instance an objective or a general performance is saved, the HCM solution will check if the total weightage is exceeding 100 for each company defined at the general performances.

Example:

General Performance 01 Company B 25

In this case the HCM Solution will not prompt a warning since for each company (Company A and Company B) the weightage total does not exceed 100%.

In this case the HCM Solution will prompt a warning since the total weightage of Company A is exceeding 100%.
