This activity is used to create an objective and then assign it to an individual employee. Creating individual objectives is helpful in measuring employee performance against an individual target related directly or indirectly to a job profile or employee's day-to-day project operations. It also helps define a development and career path for an employee.
Objectives can be assigned to an employee using Employee Objectives or Performance Evaluation Details.
If you use Employee Objectives, the objective is required to be already created in the Predefined Objectives and Activities. Performance Periods and Performance Status have to be already defined in the system as well.
If you use Performance Evaluation Details, you will need to select the employee and performance period first. To assign objectives to the employee, select the New Objective option which will guide you to a New Objective assistant. You can select a predefined objective using the list or define a New Objective ID (which is not predefined) for the employee.
Specify the target to achieve in the Target field. If you turn on the Manual Weightage button you can define the objective weightage you need manually. Note that, in Performance Rating and Scoring calculation method, total of all objectives weightage should be equal to the objective weightage you allocated when you are creating the performance period. If you did not turn on the Manual Weightage toggle the weightage allocated will be distributed equally to the objectives you assigned.
If you are using the No Rating calculation method, and if the Manual Weightage is turned on, you can assign the weightage manually and total of the objectives weightage and general performance weightage will be equal to 100. In this method if you turn off the Manual Weightage button the total of 100 will be distributed equally within objectives and general performance tasks.
Enter a description for the objective in the Description field. If you have entered a predefined objective, the objective description will show by default. In the Responsible For Follow Up field, indicate the person who is responsible for the fulfillment of the objective. Select a person using the list. If the field is left blank, the system would generate the employee ID of the person to whom the objective is being assigned. Select the Use Activity Rating option if you want to calculate the performance score of the objective based on the ratings given for activities.
Note: By enabling the input sources on the Input
Sources for AI Enhanced Objectives and Activities page, the specified
objective description will be enhanced as SMART objective with AI by considering
the input sources as additional information, including the mentioned objective
target. In order to perform this task, AI services must be enabled in the application.
SMART stands for Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-bound,
used to define clear and attainable objectives.
To assign objectives via Employee Objectives, the objective is required to be already created in the Predefined Objectives and Activities. Performance Periods and Performance Status have to be already defined in the system as well.
The newly assigned objective will be displayed in both Employee Objectives and Performance Evaluation Details.
