This activity explains how jobs will now be assigned directly to a person under Personal File.
Once a specific person is selected, navigate to the Assignments tab. Within this section, a new Job Assignments subsection has been introduced, where all job records assigned to that person will be displayed and stored.
Users will be able to select and assign jobs from a dropdown list based on requirements.
Primary and Secondary Job Assignments
The Primary status is used to indicate if the assigned job to the person is the person's Primary job.
Tagging a Company to a Global Job record
The Company field is available as a dropdown selection, allowing users to tag a company when assigning a Global Job.
This flexibility allows users to tag Global Jobs with or without a company, depending on the users’ requirements.
When a Company is tagged to a Global Job under the Job Assignments section for a specific person, the solution will check for any overlapping legacy job assignments (historical job records) in the Employee File for the persons connected employments, If the following conditions are met:
Then, the system will display the following error message: Employee Job Assignments under Employee File consist of some history records that are overlapping and marked as primary. Expire it or mark the record as non-primary.
This ensures that only one primary job is active, or the validity periods do not overlap within the same company at any given time, preventing conflicts in job assignments.
If a Global Job assigned under the Job Assignments section for a specific person does not have a company tagged, the solution will still check for any overlapping legacy job assignments (historical job records) in the Employee File for the persons connected employments.
If the connected person has existing legacy job assignments in the Employee File that is:
Then, the system will display the following warning message: Employee Job Assignments under Employee File consist of some history records that are overlapping and marked as primary. It is recommended that you expire it or mark the record as non-primary.
Unlike an error message, this warning does not prevent saving the job assignment, but it recommends reviewing and adjusting existing job records to avoid inconsistencies in primary job assignments or any overlaps with job assignments.
In order to perform this activity:
Jobs will be assigned to the Person and will be reflected against that specific person connected employments.
