Assign Person To Job Via Employee File

Explanation

This activity explains how Job Assignments work within Employee File. 

Employee File allows users to: 

• View job assignments linked to a specific person. 
• Assign new job assignmnets directly from the Employee File. 
• Manage job roles efficiently within the solution.

With the Job Setup Configuration being configured, this directly affects how the Employee File displays Job assignments, and changes to its interface.

If Company Dependent Jobs, is the selected option in the Job Setup Configuration, the Employee File will show only one section – the default Job Details section. 

If Global Jobs, is the selected option in the Job Setup Configuration, the Employee File will display two sections: 

• Job Assignments  
• Legacy Job Assignments  

Job Assignments – Shows the active job assignments linked to the persons connected employees at Employee File, allows users to enter and assign jobs to the connected person within the Employee File.

Legacy Job Assignments – Displays previously assigned or history job records, displays historical job records that were previously assigned to the persons connected employees in the Employee File. 

This setup ensures that both current and past job assignments are accessible and manageable from the Employee File. 

Users can assign jobs directly through the Employee File. 

The Company Job Assignments flag allows users to control the visibility of job records in the Employee File, based on company association. 

When Company Job Assignments flag is Checked:

• The solution displays only job records assigned to the person that have a company tagged, and that match the company context in the Employee File. 

When Company Job Assignments flag is unchecked:

• The solution will show all job records assigned to the person, including:
• Job records without a company tagged.
• Job records with a different company tagged. 

When a job record is assigned to a person with a Company tagged, it will be visible in the Employee File only if the company context in the Employee File matches the company assigned to the job record. 

If the company context in the Employee File matches the company tagged to the job record, the jobs will appear in the Job Assignments section. 

In this case, the Company Job Assignments checkbox will be automatically checked or marked by default when the user accesses the Employee File. 

This ensures that job visibility aligns with the correct Company context in the solution. 

This feature gives users the flexibility to filter job records based on company association or view all assigned jobs for a person. 

Prerequisites

In order to perform this activity:

• At Job Setup configuration, an option must be already selected. 
• Jobs must be already registered in the solution 
• Person and its connected employees must be already registered in the application  

System Effects

• Jobs assigned to person can be viewed at Employee File.
• Jobs can be assigned to person through Employee File.
