Define Part Specific Emissions and RoHS information

Explanation

You can define emissions specific to a part revision. A part revision specific emission appears during the production of the part and can be considered to have an environmental impact. It is possible to define emissions per unit and/or per batch.

An example of a part revision specific emission could be an additional CO2 emission related to the use of a furnace. When manufacturing, this part increases the electricity consumption by 10% for the furnace per each lot batch, with the result of a part specific emission of CO2 per lot batch. This emission could benefit from being registered as a part revision specific emission. Another example could be if the emission is specific for all parts manufactured at a work center, so that a general emission can’t be listed. In such circumstances part revision specific emissions will be listed for each part.

Part specific emissions in the production of electronic equipment and assemblies can be imported. To import relevant IPC parameters as an .xml file, click Import IPC Xml

You can also define ROHS information for the part revision. RoHS information includes compliance and source of compliance also information about the specific RoHS Directive and specific Exemption from the directive if applicable. Multiple exemptions can be entered in the exemptions section but only one can be set as the primary exemption, which will be displayed in the RoHS Info section. All exemptions can be analyzed on the Part Revision RoHS Exemption page.

RoHS information for components are aggregated to a higher structure level by a separate calculation, Aggregate RoHS Info.

Emissions can be registered from a pre-defined template, either as a one time copy or as a reference that enables future updates from the template
