Update Resource Capacity
Explanation
This activity is used to update the resource capacity when unplanned work
tasks result from limitations in available resource capacity.
If resources capacity appears inadequate, it is important to review the following:
- Used in Maintenance must be Yes for
all the resource groups from which resources are used.
- Individually planned person resources must be connected to the relevant
Maintenance Organization(s)
- Make sure all individually planned resources have their resource schedules
generated. This can be viewed in the Resource Availability
page. If the schedule is not available, generate the schedule.
- Make sure all resource groups planned on group level
(capacity calculation base = Group ) have the planned site(s)
connected and also have a generated calendar connected.
- Additionally, in the Resources tab of the
PM Action Work List or Work Task, review the value in the Planned
Hours field for the resource demands and adjust as needed.
Prerequisites
- Maintenance Planning and Scheduling Dataset has been
enabled and sent to IFS Planning & Scheduling Optimization (PSO) engine
and schedule returned by PSO has been saved in IFS Cloud. Analyzing the
plan result found some discrepancies.
