Add New Layout

Explanation

This activity is used to create a layout in (*.rep format). You can start designing on a blank canvas once the layout has been created.

This activity launches the Create New Report Layout assistant, where you can build a custom layout from scratch. Just fill in the mandatory fields (Layout Name and Layout Title) and save it to associate it with the chosen report. 

Once you save your new layout, a success status message following a details page (Layouts Designer) will appear. The version is automatically set to Unpublished for design purposes. To start designing, access the newly created version, which opens a blank canvas.   

Outputs: 

  1. An unpublished layout version is created for designing. 
  2. Created Layout will be updated in the Report Definition Layout list automatically.   

Once the report layout is created successfully, Report Definition will be updated with the created layout. For the Unpublished reports In Use field in the Layout Definitions section is set to No initially. When you publish the report after designing, In Use field will be updated as Yes automatically.
