This activity is used to add and view document file templates. A document file template allows you to use a document revision of an existing document as a template for one or more document classes. Each document file template is identified by the document class, the language, and the format. The asterisk (*) wildcard can represent all formats An asterisk (*) can be used to select all formats.
Activity can be performed by adding a record in a specific class in Document File Templates page. A template can also be created from a document from the Set As Doc Template in File Operations command.
When a basic data value is set in the Document Default Values page for the DB column KEEP_LAST_DOC_REV of the EDM File Template object, it is fetched as the default value in the Associated Revision field. There are three possible values that can be set:
Note: If no default value is set, Fixed is used as the default for the Associated Revision.
When the value is set to either Latest Revision or Latest Released Revision, the revision fetched is determined as follows:
As a result of this activity, when creating new documents in this document class, the selected document file will be used as a template for the new document.
