The salary review and planning process has two main approval flows:
This activity covers the approval of
the Salary Review Plan. Once the salary review
plan is validated by the respective HR Partner of the organization, this plan can be Approved.
Approval
Approvals will have steps and each step
can be approved by one or one of many approvers. If there is more than one
possible approver, the respective approver’s column will reflect all their
Person IDs and Names with a separation.
If such is the case, as long as one of
the many approvers approves a selected step, that step will be
considered approved, and the approved person and date will be recorded.
Removing an Approval
An approval can be removed if the
Salary Review Plan status is not in the "Plan Approved" state or any status
post to this. When all the approvers in the approval steps complete their
approval the Salary Review Plan status changes to “Plan Approved”. Further
if it is required to remove approval, the removal must take place in the
descending order of the approval steps. (However, if the final Approver
has already approved you cannot remove approval).
Changes to the Salary Review Plan
No changes can be made to the salary
review plan when the status is Plan Approval in Progress or any later
status.
Salary review plans can be approved in bulk by selecting the required salary plans and clicking on the "Approve" button.
An approved salary review plan can be reversed using the "Remove Approval" button if the status of the salary review plan is 'Plan Approval in Progress'.
If the approver is the last approver and the status is "Plan Approved" the reversing cannot be done.
The 'Details' button can be used to navigate to the Salary Review Plans details page of the selected records.
Multi-Plan Summary option can be used to view summaries of selected salary review plans.
Salary Review Plans of any company, status, salary period and currency can be selected to view the summary in Salary Review Plan Summary dialog.
Salary periods and currencies which are common to the selected companies are shown in the Salary Period and Currency list of value fields inside the dialog.
Salary Periods for a company are defined in Salary Rate, Frequency and Period page. The basis for Salary Time Base (i.e. Monthly, Annually etc. ) is the Per Annum Ratio defined in this page for each of the time bases. This number can differ from company to company.
The Currency list of values shows the common currencies for which a conversion rate is defined against the company accounting currency.
Total Reviewed Salary, the Total Proposed Increment and the Total New Salary values shown in the first section consider the totals of the salary review plans listed in the second section.
The Total Amounts displayed in Reviewed Salary, Proposed Increment and New Salary fields can change based on the Salary Period and Currency chosen. E.g. If an Annual Reviewed Salary should be converted to a Monthly Salary it would be divided by probably 12 based on the Per Annum Ratio defined for the company. And if the Accounting Currency is USD, to convert it to EUR the conversion rate defined for EUR against the company accounting currency in Currency Rates page would be referred.
Proposed Increment % is obtained by diving the Proposed Increment by the Reviewed Salary and multiplying by 100. (Proposed Increment /Reviewed Salary *100)
Just like in the Salary Review Plans page in the Salary Review Plan Summary > Salary Review Plans list, any plans in the statuses "Ready for Plan Approval" and "Plan Approval in Progress" statuses can be selected and approved in bulk. After approval, any plans in the status "Plan Approval in Progress" can be unapproved using the "Remove Approval" option.
