About Import and Mapping

This is a functionality designed to support the integration and visualization of 3D design models within IFS Cloud. It enables users to import, configure, map, and render complex model data—design data handling from external sources into the internal system.

Service Profile

The process begins with the creation of a Service Profile, which defines the configuration parameters and associated views used to process and display the model. This profile serves as the foundation for all subsequent steps, such as model configuration, mapping, and visualization.

Each View in the Service Profile represents a logical grouping of data that will be used for mapping the model's elements to the target system. These views must be marked as Active to be selectable during the model mapping process.

From Initialization to Data Import

After a model file is uploaded and mapped, users can initialize the data import process. During this step, the system evaluates the prepared mappings and submits them as a background job. The outcome of the import is reflected in the status indicators such as Data Import Successful, Data Import Failed, or Data Import Partially.

Note: Once the data import is initiated, further transformations and post-processing may be handled by internal tools like the FnD Migration Tool.
