About AFP Certification Delay Prediction

Introduction

The Application for Payment (AFP) Certification Delay Prediction feature provides a mechanism to predict delays in AFP certification by applying intelligent machine learning (ML) methods to the Sales Contract Application for Payment. This feature ensures upfront visibility of potential delays in certifying AFPs, which could impact cash inflow downstream. By predicting AFP certification delays early in the process, this feature offers several benefits:

Predicted Certification Delay at AFP Submission

The AFP certification delays are predicted for each AFP submission. The Predicted Certification Delay Days and the Predicted Certify Date are displayed upon submitting the AFP. The machine learning model is called each time an AFP is submitted. Note that the predicted certification delays are not calculated if the AFP Certification Delay Prediction model is not in Trained and Active status, or if there are connectivity issues with the platform during AFP submission.

Cash Planning

The predicted certification delay days can be used as input to the field Customer Payment Delay Days in Cash Plan Details, for the Cash Plan source Application for Payment, if the Use Predicted Payment Delay Days is enabled in the Cash Plan scenario level.

Setup

To use the AFP Certification Delay Prediction in Sales Contract Application for Payment, the machine learning model needs to be trained and activated, In addition, the feature needs to be enabled on the Sales Contract.

Machine Learning Model Training

To utilize the AFP Certification Delay Prediction in the Sales Contract Application for Payment, the machine learning model must be trained and activated. This process is conducted within the Solution Manager, specifically on the Machine Learning Models page. Once the training is complete, the training status should be Trained and the model status should be Active to enable the AFP certification delay prediction. The model can be retrained as needed to ensure the most accurate predictions based on recent AFP data.

The machine learning model is called each time an AFP is submitted. Predicted certification delays are not calculated if the AFP Certification Delay Prediction model is not in Trained and Active status, or if there are connectivity issues with the platform during AFP submission.

Enable the AFP Certification Delay Predictions

To use this functionality, the Use AFP Certification Delay Prediction option must be enabled on the Sales Contract. If this option is enabled for a contract, the predicted delay will be displayed in the Predicted Certify Date and Predicted Certification Delay Days fields on the AFP once submitted.
