Raise Fault

Explanation

A fault is raised on discovery of a problem and is sometimes referred to as a non-routine, finding, or discrepancy. Faults are found and raised by the flight crew during flights, inspections, and by technicians while maintenance work is being performed. A fault is assessed, and either deferred or repaired.

You can raise a fault from the Dashboard, the Aircraft Turn Details and Task Details pages.

If the fault is being raised from within an aircraft turn or task, the aircraft against which it is being raised is set to the aircraft on the turn or task. On creating the fault, the failed system against which the fault is recorded and a description of the fault must be entered.

Faults raised from the Dashboard or Aircraft Turn Details are considered as found during a flight. For faults raised from the dashboard the flight during which the fault was found can be selected from a list of inbound flights while those raised from aircraft turn details are created for the inbound flight on the aircraft turn. The phase of flight can be selected for faults found during the flight.

Faults raised from Task Details are specific to the task from which it originated and the Found During Task field shows the barcode of the task from which you raised the fault.
